100th anniversary celebrated in Unnaryd! First play in a hundred years - psalmodikon in BoMu
Sunday, May 26 at 14:00, the Nordic Psamodikon Association presents a historical concert from the heyday of bonad painting. Among ancient paintings on the archive's concrete walls, the sounds of the 18th century seek their way back from the glory days of cultural heritage. This is how it sounded in the days of great-great-grandmother. Music from the Age of Liberty. In 1834, when Unnaryd's newly built church was completed, it lacked an organ. The acoustics in the bare hall were utterly hopeless. The rock-hard plaster walls echoed with the slightest sound. When parishioners from different villages came in with their own interpretations of hymn singing, they pulled in different directions so that neither the priest nor the sexton could make their voices heard.
