Kilenstugan, June 11, 2023
At the venerable Kilenstugan in Vreta Kloster, the Väderstad group experienced a windy but magical musical performance on June 11, where the unique tones of the psalmodikon echoed through history. Join us as we explore how this 19th-century instrument revives musical traditions and allows contemporary audiences to experience its fascinating sound!
On Sunday, June 11, the Väderstad group was invited to play at Kilenstugan in Vreta Kloster outside Linköping. It is one of the oldest cottages in Stjärnorp parish, a seven-bay cottage from the mid-1600s (back then it was called Kijlen). We played outdoors in warmth and a bit of wind (sometimes the sheet music blew away, creating a bit of cheerful chaos). The audience was interested and got to listen and try before the annual outdoor service. It is very nice to go out and inform about the psalmodikon. Playing together in front of an audience is also super fun.
